Natural materials, which I adore, are very prevalent in design, so I thought I’d show you some bathtub made from a single rock that range from formal and carved to untouched and natural-looking. It probably goes without saying, but because of the materials’ durability – and with proper care – they can be used outside as well.

This modern looking tub looks like it was made out of wood, but it is actually made out of onyx by Carved Stone Creations.
Bathtubs by Stone Forest are created of travertine, onyx, granite or marble, depending on your choice of color and style.
Carved from a huge boulder, they can be given any kind of look, from rough to smooth surface depending on your preference. (River Rock Bathtub)

Different color variations for stone tubs are based upon materials.
Finally, something ridiculously expensive:
Crystal bathtub by Baldi
Crystal bathtub by Baldi
A part of a huge rock crystal that was excavated was hollowed out and shaped with diamond cutters by the Italian company Baldi, who have sold two. One to a Russian magnate for $858,763 (700,000 Euros) and the second to Harrods for a window display at the price of $790,310. Seriously?!?!?
These huge crystal rocks, while pretty, are excavated from the Amazonian rainforests! So, Harrods and this Russian magnate just funded and encouraged that kind of damage!! I don’t care how pretty they are, I could never, ever support that and could come up with options just as pretty – or prettier – without causing damage to the environment and displacing, endangering and killing animals. Sorry for ending on a downer, but I thought it was better to tell the background!!
Anyway….I hope everyone had a wonderful 4th of July 😀
