While researching bathrooms for a project, I came upon pictures that were too exquisite not to share! Some of these luxurious bathrooms have unusual sinks, fixtures, mirrors and/or faucets, providing a statement piece – a good idea for any room – that goes beyond the typical and gives that “custom” look. Any homeowner can tweak certain features, even if you aren’t doing a bathroom overhaul or renovation.
I just love the drama of this deep, moody, masculine grey paired with the feminine Venetian mirror and gleam of the metals.
What makes this last bathroom so special, but SO bittersweet, is that I came upon it accidentally, and if you have read my “About Me” section, this bath is from the historic house that I came so, so close to buying, but was too far away from the city. I recognized the windows, then I saw the designer’s name, Barry Dixon, who ended up purchasing the home with his partner.
Bathrooms, like kitchens, can really set a house apart and although these are examples of high end bathrooms, sometimes just swapping out the mirror for a framed one makes a big difference.
I hope you all enjoyed the pictures and have a great day!
One can dream!
Agreed. They are stunning…but so out of reach for the average or even above homeowner.
I meant to say they are stunning but so out of reach for the average or even above average homeowner.
Actually, most of these are very within reach:
– If you read my post https://adetailedhouse.com/2012/07/09/diy-custom-bathroom-sink-cabinet/ it shows how most of these sink cabinets are very affordable.
-The Venetian mirror on the first picture can be had on eBay for a couple of hundred dollars (I did a post on it a while back in the bathroom section and at the end of it had ways to do your bathroom and saving money, like ReStore for marble)
– Most of the other mirrors can be bought for as little (or as much) as you want to spent
– Same for the light fixtures.
– Claw foot tubs are also a few hundred or less if your willing to refinish/paint them yourself
– The second sink can be fashioned from concrete
The limestone fireplace is a stretch, as is taking marble to the ceiling, but those aren’t needed to create an amazing bathroom.
Absolutely beautiful! Thanks for sharing.
I’m so glad you liked them!
wonderful 🙂
Kearney, these are beautiful. I love them all. The mirrors and the lighting is fantastic.

Love these! I finally finished my son’s/guest bathroom. Check it out… http://wp.me/pQ3NA-XB Of course, it doesn’t hold a candle to these but it’s come a long way! 🙂
I’ve been looking for a mirror like a few of those examples. Thank you for showing me that it really works!
I love this post!! In my Feng Shui practice, I often hear questions from people about how bathrooms are negative energy. That’s based on how bathrooms were thousands of years ago when Feng Shui was developed. How could a bathroom this beautiful be bad just because it is a bathroom! I’m going to have to blog about bathrooms and include a link to this post! Thank you!
Thank you!! I so agree!!
Love these photos. I think they’re all gorgeous but my preference is for the modern styled bathrooms. Don’t feel too sad about the house that could’ve been – I’m a big believer in things turning out the way they’re supposed to.
You are so right and I needed to hear that!! Thank you for the sage advice/reminder!

Love those bathrooms. So many wonderful designs. Thanks for sharing.
Your posts are such eye candy! You even have some of my lovely azulejos in here. I love the rustic brick one too, but I know that in reality I’m a clumsy person and would scrape my elbows in it.
Too bad there isn’t a “LOVE” button because I would’ve clicked it! 🙂
I’m so glad you liked them!!!
Beautiful, beautiful bathrooms. I love the second, fourth and the one with the round sunken tub. I love this blog.
Thank you so much!!
You still don’t have a “love” button for me to (oh, I see someone else said this above). . . well, ditto! Daughter is coveting one of these bathrooms for her next one.
Loved most of them but I really don’t like to pipes showing. I was surprised to see pipes in some really nice bathrooms. They just give me the creeps.
Gorgeous!! I can’t even pick a favorite. Will share with Scott this evening — he’s as big a fan of decorating “porn” as I am!
love these ideas! thanks for posting such beautiful and inspiring photos!
